Job Summary
ICU Medical Nursing opportunity in an intensive care unit setting, available on nights, starting September 15, 2026. The position involves providing specialized care to critically ill patients with diagnoses such as cardiac arrest, sepsis, neuro surgical conditions, DKA, induced hypothermia, GI Bleed, and angioedema. The role requires the ability to titrate all drips and manage complex patient needs within a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: ICU Medical Nursing in an intensive care unit with 26 beds (typically 14 nurses per shift). Common diagnoses include cardiac arrest, sepsis, neuro surgical, DKA, induced hypothermia, GI Bleed, angioedema, and more (no trauma).
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, prefer CCRN; at least 1 year of MICU experience; valid license.
- Schedule: Night shift, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum 34.5 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Must be able to titrate all drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, and insulin. The charge nurse does not have a patient assignment and responds to codes/RRT. Nurse aides (PCTs) assist during shifts. In-house staff include Fellows/Residents and RTs managing ventilators and breathing treatments. Tele/monitor techs are not present; nurses interpret their own tele strips. Travelers are prioritized for float duties, only to stepdown 1:3-4. The unit requires availability for at least 2 weekends per 4-week schedule and may include holiday rotation.
