Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (OB RN) Wausau, WI. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery department within a healthcare facility. The role supports the organizations commitment to patient-centered maternity care, assisting in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care.

Job Details

  • Position Description: OB RN for a 9-week contract, beginning as soon as possible, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Certifications: Mandatory: AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Education, License, and Experience: Associate Degree or Certificate, WI Registered Nurse license, minimum of 2 years of OB with Labor and Delivery experience.
  • Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., every third weekend and every other holiday rotation.
  • Unit Information: 11-bed Labor and Delivery / 8-bed Postpartum, with approximately 1,350 deliveries annually and an average of 112 deliveries per month.
  • Charting Experience: Preference for experience with Electronic Patient Record (EPR) platform EPIC.
  • Skillset: Competent in Labor and Delivery nursing practices.
  • Additional Information: Possible low-census periods may involve on-call duties, with a minimum of 2 hours callback pay. During flu season, staff declining vaccination are required to wear masks at all times. The position may involve work in a high-variability, busy labor and postpartum setting.
