Job Summary
Neuro Surgical Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Days Weekend Blocked located in the healthcare providers facility. This position involves providing specialized neuro-surgical patient care on a highly-respected medical surgical neurology floor. Candidates will deliver comprehensive nursing services to neuro and neuro-surgical patients, supporting recovery and health outcomes.

Job Details

• Position Description: Neuro Surgical Medical Surgical RN Days Weekend Blocked, contract length 13 weeks, start date 09/21/2026.
• Certification and Education Requirements: Current active compact license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Associate Degree or Certificate.
• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of strong neuro experience, at least 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
• Location Requirements: No local candidates (40-mile radius rule).
• Schedule: 12-hour days, typically 36 hours guaranteed per week, with some accepting 48-hour shifts upon request. The shift schedule includes weekends (every weekend) and every other holiday, with specific shift times from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Responsibilities: Conduct NIHSS/dysphagia screens, perform neuro assessments, interpret telehealth data, manage strict I & Os, and perform procedures like catheterization, blood administration, NG tubes, and drain management. Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Additional Information: Will be required to do a checkoff class on recent EPIC charting experience. The unit has 37 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6 during days.
• Float Requirement: First to float within skillset; cross-campus float possible with 2-hour notice.
