Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) [Location]
This role involves providing high-quality nursing care within a specialized progressive care environment. The RN will coordinate patient assessments, implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes while ensuring safety and compliance with hospital standards.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS certification required prior to first shift, ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
- Education & Experience: Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience.
- Specialization: Progressing care patient population.
- Schedule: Shift time is Days, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities:
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments within 8 hours of admission.
- Develops and updates individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Provides discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Maintains accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and responses.
- Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and supports continuity of care.
- Delegates tasks appropriately to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Ensures personal, patient, and environmental safety following hospital policies.
- Assumes charge nurse responsibilities following orientation, as requested.
- Maintains open communication with the healthcare team regarding patient status.
- Engages in ongoing professional development and self-study to support clinical competence.
- Additional Information:
- Focused on safety in all aspects of patient care, including safe patient handling and infection control.
- Contributes to team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
- Monitors supplies and charges to promote cost-effective care.
- Performs other duties as requested in support of patient and operational needs.
