Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse position in Madison, WI. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult patients with cardiology and intermediate care needs, supporting a fast-paced environment with interdisciplinary collaboration. The nurse will be responsible for managing complex patient conditions, including cardiac telemetry, invasive monitoring, and post-procedural care, working closely with a high-performing cardiac team.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
  • Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse (RN) license; BLS & ACLS American Heart Association certifications; Epic electronic medical record experience; minimum one year of nursing experience in a relevant setting; inpatient RN travel experience of at least two years within the last three years in the specialty being submitted to; minimum of 0 years of experience specifically for this assignment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience; Level I or Level II trauma experience; LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) experience; previous charge nurse experience; strong charting proficiency in Epic.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Wisconsin (WI) RN license or compact RN license.
  • Skills: Cardiac telemetry, arterial line and port management, continuous bladder irrigation, blood product administration, management of vasoactive drips, invasive monitoring, post-cardiac procedures, telemetry on the unit monitoring, wound care, use of rapid response and code teams, and other advanced cardiac care skills.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must pass a telemetry skills exam prior to start, with up to two attempts allowed. The unit features interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and more. The position requires floating as needed within the specified local rule of 50 miles from the facility.
