Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing comprehensive care to women across all stages of maternity, from childbirth through postpartum, as well as caring for newborns up to 28 days of life. The role requires supervising and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a healthcare facility setting.

Job Details

• Position Description: Responsible for delivering expert nursing care to patients in the Women's Care Unit, with duties including supervising care activities, patient assessment, and implementing individualized care plans tailored to patients' age, growth, and developmental stages.
• Required Qualifications: Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of California; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum one-year labor and delivery experience, nursery experience (any level), and postpartum experience preferred; certification in Fetal Monitoring through the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) within six months of employment, recertification every two years; ACLS and STABLE preferred, with initial certification within six months of hire and recertification every two years.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The role involves frequent patient transfer, use of clinical equipment, and exposure to blood and body fluids. Employees must adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and infection control protocols, including HIPAA compliance. Familiarity with computerized documentation and ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations is essential.
