Description

Job Summary
Progressive Care Nurse (PCU) General Location. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a Progressive Care Unit, focusing on monitoring and managing patients with complex medical conditions. The role requires attention to detail, strong clinical skills, and the ability to respond effectively to acute patient needs.

Job Details

Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/26/2026 and ending on 01/25/2027.
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing licensure, 2 years of nursing experience, strong ventilator management skills, and certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, EPIC (Electronic Health Record) system familiarity, community hospital experience, and trauma level I or II experience.
Work Settings: Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, Medical-Surgical units.
Additional Information: The role involves caring for patients with pulmonary conditions, ventilated trach patients, COPD, and high acuity respiratory cases, including endobronchial valves and ventilators. Floating to other units and departments may be required within scope, with regular safety and isolation precautions observed. No on-call or guaranteed hours; open to accommodating block schedules.
Special Procedures/Unit Details: Ventilators, endobronchial valves, and specialized respiratory treatments.
Unit Details: Staffing ratios are 1:4, with occasional ratio flexing to 1:6. The unit supports high acuity pulmonary and ventilated patients using advanced procedures and equipment.
