Job Summary
The Denver-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment specializing in surgical transplant care. The role involves managing a patient census with a focus on complex medical conditions, including transplant patients, in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Job Details

  • Shift Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, minimum 1-year acute care hospital stepdown or PCU experience, BLS & ACLS certifications, experience with solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, or pancreas), and proficiency in respiratory support modalities.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory support devices such as Vapotherm, Bipap, or CPAP; knowledge of chest tube management, tracheostomy care, NG/Dobhoff placement, and insulin drips.
  • Typical responsibilities include wound and drain care, frequent lab draws from central lines, transfusion of blood products, use of NICOM (non-invasive cardiac monitor), bladder irrigations, plasmapheresis, and managing patients with complex needs such as heparin infusions, PCA, epidurals, and cardiac arrhythmias.
  • The unit operates with a Nurse Charge role during shifts without assigned patients and expects team members to be adaptable, reliable, and capable of working in a high-energy environment.
