Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech in ORT This position is located at a short-term acute care facility with 418 beds. The role involves providing specialized surgical support across various adult surgical specialties, ensuring patient safety and sterile procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, Degrees, Location, and Experience: Must be certified as a surgical technologist or military trained with at least 1 year of experience. Valid state license with a compact license in hand at submission.
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Start date: 09/28/2026, end date: 12/28/2026.
- Additional Responsibilities: Candidates will be expected to work in adult acute care operating rooms with a focus on advanced oncology surgical cases. Must be able to support multiple adult surgical specialties including Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Neuro, ENT, Gynecology, Urology, and Thoracic, among others.
- Special Requirements: Must have broad knowledge of surgical equipment and be certified as a surgical technologist or military-trained. On-call responsibilities include weekday standby shifts of 16 hours every 4 weeks and weekend standby shifts of 24 hours every 4 weeks. Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays.
- Travel and Float Policy: May be required to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in contract termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
- Compliance: Must include responses regarding prior experience at a Providence facility, provide two references covering at least 6 months within the past three years, and submit all required documentation and certifications.
