Job Summary
The ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) is based in the healthcare facility's surgical department. This position involves supporting both cardiovascular (CVAR) and general operating room cases, ensuring sterile technique and assisting surgical teams during procedures. The role requires proficiency in trauma, orthopedic, and general surgeries, including expertise with advanced equipment such as robotic systems.
Job Details
- Certifications and Experience: BLS Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA. Minimum of 2 years of surgical technician experience in trauma, orthopedic, and general surgeries.
- Schedule: 8-hour days with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Call requirements, including every other weekend, and first to float.
- Responsibilities: Support for cardiovascular (CVAR) and general operating room cases including trauma, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, ENT, plastics, vascular, neuro, and robotics (Da Vinci). Assist in open-heart, valves, thoracotomy, trauma, and other procedures.
- Charting System: Cerner.
- Licensing: License submission is required.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be certified, experienced in trauma, ortho, and general surgeries, and able to support a variety of complex procedures.
