Job Summary
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse (RN) position is based at a pediatric cardiac surgery intensive care unit. This role involves coordinating nursing care for pediatric patients, including direct patient care, education for patients and families, and care transitions. The RN will support professional nursing practices across various settings and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the unit.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The RN provides advanced postoperative management in a pediatric cardiovascular surgery ICU. This includes cardiac monitoring, central and arterial line management, pacemaker management, and supporting heart transplant patients.
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license by applicable state requirements; minimum of one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting if graduated from a non-accredited program, or other specified criteria; BLS and ACLS certifications; two years of pediatric cardiovascular ICU experience; at least six months of previous travel experience (one year preferred).
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with every third weekend. An option for 48 hours guaranteed can be discussed and determined at offer.
  • Additional Information: Floating may be required within pediatric care areas, including NICU and general pediatrics, as needed. Prior experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, and pacemaker management is essential.
