Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse (MS REHAB) Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized inpatient rehabilitative care to adult patients with high acuity needs at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The role requires collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and functional improvements, with a focus on maximizing patient independence and quality of life.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides inpatient rehabilitation nursing services to adult patients requiring high-acuity care, including those recovering from stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries. The RN will assist with physical medicine and rehabilitation programs to help patients achieve their highest possible level of recovery.
- Certifications: BLS.
- Education Requirements: Not specified.
- Experience: 1+ year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment preferred; minimum of 0 years required.
- Location Requirements: Not specified.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience related to patient acuity.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The inpatient rehab hospital functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit with high-acuity cases requiring collaborative patient care. Nurses are expected to assist with patient safety measures, answer call lights, and support C.N.As. Attendance and punctuality policies are strictly observed, with mandatory breaks and strict clocking procedures. Orientation begins October 20, 2026, with ongoing care responsibilities through January 19, 2027. No local candidates accepted.
