Description

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specialized nursing position is based in an organization that requires a comprehensive skill set and clinical expertise. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including managing complex medical cases, operating advanced devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and standards, supporting patient recovery and stability.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 10/05/2026
  • End Date: 01/02/2027
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); must have a minimum of two years of experience in an ICU or similar environment; current identification as a licensed Registered Nurse with relevant state licensure; must have experience with cardiothoracic surgery patients and devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella; orientation is weekly; must be separated from previous employment at the organization for at least six months; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible adaptability; must wear any color Scrubs.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic health record system, prior experience floating between ICU and intermediate care units.
  • Additional Information: BILH coversheet is required at the time of submission. This position involves working every other weekend, with a weekend rotation, and may require working through winter holidays with two holidays expected. Candidates should have the ability to float between ICU and intermediate care units as needed.
