Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) nursing position located in a healthcare facility in a hospital setting. This role involves providing perioperative care for a variety of surgical cases including general, ENT, eyes, ortho, robotics, trauma, vascular, and peds surgeries. The position requires experience in the specialty and prior travel assignments, with an emphasis on ortho and robotic procedures. The shift schedule includes day and evening hours, with specific on-call requirements.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, primarily day/evening, with start times such as 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Coverage includes 36 hours per week, with start date between 09/21/2026 and 10/05/2026, and end date of 12/21/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience in operating room nursing, including ortho and robotic surgery experience. Prior travel assignments of 2-3 placements are required. Certifications include BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), and PALS (preferred). Experience passing the arms in and out for robotic procedures and proficiency with EPIC electro medical records are essential.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with outpatient surgery, scrub experience for RN, and familiarity with various surgical specialties including neuro spine, burr holes, VP shunts, vents, discectomy, fusions, TLIF, ALIF, nerve stimulators, total joints, trauma, vascular, peds, and emergent cases.
• Additional Requirements: Floating to outpatient surgery may be necessary. On-call requirements include one weeknight on-call from 7 PM to 7 AM and one weekend per month from 7 AM to 7 PM. Response time for on-call situations is 30 minutes; staff must be comfortable staying if located more than 30 minutes away. Dress code includes scrubs provided by the organization. Unit-specific orientation involves 3 shifts over one week.
• Experience & Skills: Minimum of 2 years in operating room nursing, with specific ortho and robotic experience required. Ability to navigate EPIC EMR system. Scrubbing on cases is required for RN staff.
• Additional Notes: The OR team is largely composed of travelers. Techs are responsible for room turnover; no aids or housekeeping duties are included. The schedule allows block scheduling if it meets unit needs.
