Job Summary
Medical Surgical Neurology Floor Nurse in a neuro and stroke unit. This role involves providing patient care for a variety of acute care patients, including surgical and neurological cases, within a busy hospital environment. Staff will work on rotating nights, with scheduled shifts of 12 hours, and may float to other medical-surgical units as needed. The position requires collaboration, organization, and adherence to established protocols to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Schedule: Straight nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 10/12/2026 to 01/11/2027, with rotating weekends and holidays. On-call responsibilities are very rare; float to other medical-surgical units may be required.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to submit, BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred, minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical or stroke/neuro units, at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: NIH Stroke Scale and ACLS certifications are advantageous but not required.
• Additional Information: The unit is an 8-bed stroke/neuro unit utilizing EPIC charting system, Plum IV pumps, and Plum PCAs. New staff will undergo approximately one week of preceptor-led orientation in a setting similar to a general medical-surgical environment, with training on routines, unit processes, and equipment.
• Dress Code: Navy blue uniforms.
