Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU MEDICAL) position in a large ICU unit located in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves providing specialized critical care to a diverse group of patients in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on acute and complex medical cases requiring advanced skills and attention to detail.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
  • Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week minimum
  • Required Qualifications: Current Nevada license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and no minimum years of experience required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Successful completion of a critical care course; familiarity with ventilators, proficiency in electrocardiograms (EKGs), experience with vasopressor and titration protocols; candidates with these skills will be considered first
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to intensive care units and emergency departments to care for ICU and IMC patients
  • Additional Information: The unit consists of 47 ICU beds, including Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Cardiovascular Telemetry (CVT), and Neuroscience beds. Staff typically work in teams with a staffing ratio of 2:1, and the unit is equipped with sports beds, GE monitors, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), ventilators, Alaris pumps, and Meditech electronic medical records. Procedures performed include intubations, line placements, vasoactive drip titration, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and bronchoscopy. A high-energy, flexible, reliable personality with excellent time management is ideal for success in this environment.
