Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring active NV RN licensure and at least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience.
Details
- 18-bed Beacon Designated Intensive Care Unit specializing in Neuro ICU care
- Cares for a mix of Neuro ICU patients (ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, neurologic tumors, seizure) and general Medical ICU patients (DKA, sepsis, respiratory)
- 3x12 night shift schedule, 1845-0715
- No call requirements
- Floating required to other units based on organizational needs, up to competency level
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and occasional call shifts
- Uses EPIC EMR with training provided during orientation or option to test out
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Experience caring for Neuro Trauma and post neuro-surgery patients required
- Experience with post Alteplase, post Thrombectomy, and post neurosurgical patients with external ventricular drains preferred
- At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required within the past year
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric ICU patients and their families
- Level II Trauma Center with Stroke accreditation, serving a 500-mile radius
- 800 in-patient bed hospital with a fast-paced, high-volume environment comparable to a Level I trauma center
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Eve + Day counts as one holiday)
- May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Facility may cancel shifts (full or partial) for low census with 48 hours notice per 13-week contract
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- A 13-week break is required before returning after a prior contract ends
- RTO must be submitted with the application and will not be added at the end of the contract
