Description

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician II role is based in an operating room setting. This position involves assisting surgical teams with instrumentation and supplies during various procedures, including complex surgeries. The Surgical Technician II ensures the sterile environment is maintained, prepares instruments and materials, and supports patient care activities before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Job Details:

Schedule: Rotating shift hours, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited surgical technology program recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or military training, with current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. At least 0 years of directly related work experience. Ability to work independently, apply judgment, and foster effective team relationships. Knowledge of normal/abnormal anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures, and computer systems used in clinical settings.
Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
Additional Information: The role involves providing surgical support, maintaining aseptic technique, handling specimens and medications according to departmental policies, performing surgical counts, testing and maintaining equipment, and assisting with patient transport and perioperative activities. The Surgical Technician II also serves as a role model for less experienced staff and ensures all safety standards and policies are adhered to throughout procedures.
