Job Summary
Step Down Unit Nurse Specialist in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This position involves providing specialized patient care on a step-down unit within a healthcare facility. The role requires coordination with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification; up to 1 year of relevant experience; ability to work in Chattanooga, TN.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac knowledge preferred; experience with telemetry and cardiac medication management including Heparin, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips.
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include documentation of telemetry application and rhythm strips, acknowledging patient rhythms each shift, patient bedside rounding, hourly rounding with 5 Ps, and collaborating with PCTs. The unit emphasizes shared governance and has charge nurses with significant seniority. Dress code dictates navy scrubs for RNs and color-coded uniforms for CNAs/PCTs. Floating to other medical-surgical areas such as general medical-surgical, orthopedic, PCU, or surgical with oncology may be required based on skill needs.
