Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position in a care setting specializing in obstetric services. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients in labor, delivery, and postpartum settings. This position requires dedication to patient safety, clinical excellence, and teamwork over the course of a scheduled contract.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Advanced, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); valid license in state or compact; minimum 0 years of relevant experience; ability to complete core onboarding within 48 hours of contract signing
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous labor and delivery experience, knowledge of high-risk obstetric conditions, proficiency with Epic charting system, experience in a large-volume unit (100-200 births per month)
- Additional Information: The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The patient population includes neonates and adults with an average daily census of 14 patients. The unit performs a range of procedures including cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, amniocentesis, and high-risk obstetrical interventions.
