Job Summary
The ICU Ohio (Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular) nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients requiring intensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, transplant, and medical device support. This position involves working 12-hour rotating shifts at a magnet-designated facility, focusing on delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license, minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty, CVICU experience, knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine, experience with Port management, arterial line care, chest tube procedures, ventilator management, and various cardiovascular monitoring techniques. Candidate must pass telemetry test prior to start.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Acuity Adaptable areas, post-operative cardiac surgery care, and telemetry interpretation.
• Additional Responsibilities: Managing complex cardiovascular equipment including CRRT (NxStage), Impella, ECMO, IABP, and LVAD. Caring for patients with a wide range of diagnoses such as STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, and post-transplant recovery.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, RN license.
• Orientation: 24 hours of orientation provided.
• Travel Requirements: Must be willing to float as needed.

• End Date: 01/25/2027
