Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit Trauma in Madison, WI. This position involves providing advanced care to critically ill surgical, medical, and trauma patients within a Level One Trauma Center. The RN will work in a fast-paced ICU environment that supports cutting-edge therapies, including ECMO and continuous dialysis, contributing to improving patient outcomes in a Magnet-designated facility.

Job Details

• Location: Madison, WI
• Shift Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend rotation and some holidays.
• Schedule: Dayshift; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Hold an RN license for Wisconsin or a compact RN license.
  • At least 2 years of ICU experience within the last 3 years in an acute care or specialty ICU setting.
  • Epic electronic charting system experience.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Successful passage of telemetry safety exam prior to start with up to two attempts, including adult and pediatric tests.
  • The candidate must be able to manage arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators, and various advanced life support therapies.
  • Experience with trauma, sepsis, post-code care, and complex airway management preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with trauma level I/II units, high acuity patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to assist with invasive procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and blood product administration.
• Additional Information:
  • Travelers are required to float as needed.
  • The assignment runs from 10/12/2026 to 01/11/2027.
  • Strictly required pass/fail telemetry interpretation exam.
  • The facility is ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and is a Magnet-designated, leading academic medical center.
  • Parking permit required through UW Transportation or alternative transportation options available.
