Description

Job Summary:
The ORT (Operating Room Technician) in a surgical environment is responsible for assisting the surgical team by functioning as a scrub and/or circulating assistant during procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves maintaining aseptic techniques, preparing surgical instruments and equipment, and supporting efficient case turnover. The position requires the ability to provide appropriate patient care based on the age of the patients served on the unit.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift from 10/12/2026 to 01/10/2027
  • Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an approved surgical technician training program. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association. Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience as a Surgical Technician in a surgery center. Experience in an acute care hospital operating room is preferred. Scrub skills for General Gyn and GU surgery are required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CORT (Certified Operating Room Technician) credential. Experience in orthopedic, neuro, endovascular, robotics (daVinci), bariatric, and open-heart surgeries. Experience with Zimmer System preferred.
  • Additional Skills: Scrubbing, orthopedics, robotics (da Vinci), epics, circulating assistance, bariatrics, open heart surgeries, TAVR procedures, eye surgeries, gynecological surgeries, general surgeries, ENT surgeries, thoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, endovascular surgeries, plastic surgeries, Zimmer System, aseptic techniques, patient transportation, surgical back table setup, equipment mobilization, room clean-up, room inventory stocking, neurosurgery, endovascular procedures, spinal fusions, craniectomies, total knee replacements, total hip replacements, fracture surgeries.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technician in a surgery center; additional experience in an acute care hospital operating room is preferred. Scrub skills for orthopedic, neurosurgery, and robotics are required.
  • Certifications & Licensure: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
