Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse (RN) position available in a hospital setting. The role involves providing direct patient care, patient and family education, and coordinating transitions of care within a comprehensive nursing practice framework. The RN will support professional nursing standards and may participate in leadership activities, quality improvement efforts, and educational roles across the practice environment. This assignment offers a rotating shift schedule with opportunities for floating and a guaranteed schedule of 40 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week, including day/night rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), straight nights (1900-0730), every 3rd weekend, with floating as needed. An option for 48 hours guaranteed can be discussed at offer.
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license by applicable state requirements; 6 months of travel nursing experience required, 1 year of recent travel experience preferred; 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required, CVS ICU experience preferred; BLS certification required, ACLS preferred. Minimum education includes graduation from an accredited nursing program or at least one year of RN experience if graduated from a non-accredited program.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Ventricular assist devices (VAD), Impella, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), balloon pumps experience; CCRN certification preferred.
  • Additional Information: Cardiac monitoring/telemetry and the ability to read strips are required during orientation; ECG exam must be passed to continue assignment. Skills include patient care, patient/family education, mentoring and teaching, transitions of care, quality improvement, and specialized cardiac support devices.
