Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a tertiary care teaching hospital located in Springfield, MA. The role involves providing high-quality care to laboring and high-risk patients within a busy obstetric unit. The RN will work primarily during night shifts, contributing to a team that handles approximately 4,300 deliveries annually and collaborates with residents and attending physicians.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts scheduled from 1900 to 0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; minimum of 3 years of labor and delivery experience; neonatal resuscitation (NRP) certification; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification; relevant experience in a labor and delivery setting, including high-risk patient care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetrics; familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and high-acuity obstetric procedures.
  • Additional Information: The unit includes three pods: Pod C (labor) with 16 beds, Pod B (high risk) with 11 beds, and Pod A (post-partum) with 11 beds. The RN will work on either day or night shifts, with every other weekend requirement. Night shift RN will have a Friday/Saturday night schedule. One on-call shift is required every 6 weeks in addition to scheduled shifts.
