Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nursing position in a facility located in Puyallup, Washington. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients with complex medical conditions across various units, including trauma, medical-surgical, neuro, and rehab. The ICU nurse will be responsible for managing acuity levels, utilizing advanced clinical skills, and supporting patient stability in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid ICU license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification, 2 years of ICU experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilator management, invasive line management, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, and IV med titration (including Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, heparin, Cardene).
• Additional Information: The patient population includes respiratory failure, GI bleeds, sepsis, post-operative and trauma patients, with experience supporting high-acuity care essential. Support staff includes techs, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7. The EMR system in use is EPIC, with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis for medication dispensing. Orientation includes two days of hospital training and one day with the assigned unit. The RN will transport patients hospitalwide, including to radiology and other diagnostic units, primarily working as an ACLS-certified transport nurse during night shifts. Candidate must demonstrate effective communication and patient education skills and be flexible with floating within scope of practice as needed.
