Description

Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Telemetry, Night Shift located at a healthcare facility. This role involves floating within various ICU and step-down units, providing specialized care to patients with complex medical conditions. Candidates must have strong ICU experience, clinical proficiency, and the ability to adapt to different patient care environments.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week. The schedule is typically arranged three weeks at a time, with every other weekend, and occasional back-to-back weekends. Time off must be approved by management for more than five days.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); high school diploma or equivalent; ICU experience of at least one year; valid licensure for practicing as a registered nurse in the state of employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous float pool experience and proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilator management, invasive line management, and use of charting systems.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to Neuro, Trauma, Medical, Cardiac ICU, CCU (cardiac step-down), PCU/ACCU, ED Holding, med surg units, and surge areas; occasional float to nearby facilities may be necessary, with advance notification.
  • Additional Information: The role requires completion and passing of telemetry competency assessments prior to the start date, with instruction provided by the agency. Orientation includes one day of general hospital orientation, one day of ICU unit orientation, and one day of similar unit training. The nurse must document hourly rounding, participate in bedside reporting, and follow medication verification protocols. Scrubs of any color are acceptable; free parking is provided.
