Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse, specializing in Women's & Infants Hospital, primarily serves in a Level IV maternity unit. This position involves providing specialized care for women in active and latent labor, with responsibilities including overseeing high-risk pregnancies and delivering newborns. The role requires adherence to advanced fetal monitoring protocols and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 36 hours per week, with every third weekend and holiday rotation
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license in good standing, professional profile verification, ascension resume, two professional references, and completion of the ascension skills checklist
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, familiarity with Magnesium and insulin drips, experience with electronic fetal monitoring, and dedication to working shifts with no tolerance for calling in
- Float: Float rotation may be required to a nearby labor and delivery unit if needed
- Additional Information: The position involves adhering to American Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) guidelines, with specific responsibilities including charge nursing in labor and high-risk units, as well as acting as a baby nurse during deliveries. Orientation includes two shifts.
