Description

Job Summary:

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a short-term acute care facility with a Level II Trauma Center designation. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, managing cardiac drips and vasoactive medications, and monitoring patient conditions through advanced telemetry. The position offers a night shift schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on October 5, 2026, and ending on January 4, 2027.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: Night shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license accepted), at least 1 year of nursing experience, certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); experience with cardiac telemetry, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, and utilizing Epic charting system is required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, LTAC experience, trauma level II experience, and community hospital exposure are preferred
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; travelers are first to float to alternative units when overstaffed
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have the ability to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, work a schedule that includes three of the five holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Years Day), and be flexible with specific scheduling requests made upfront during submission. Candidates should be prepared to provide references covering a 1-year period within the last three years.
  • Submittal Requirements: Must include responses to questions regarding any previous employment at a Providence facility and references.
