Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurses are needed for a night shift position at a healthcare facility in an acute care setting. This role involves working in a Level I trauma center environment, providing care to complex and high-acuity patients on various specialized units, including neuro, cardiac, and transplant units. The assignment emphasizes advanced nursing skills, including sterile procedures, patient assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM), with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is planned four weeks in advance and can be adjusted two weeks prior based on facility needs.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), at least 2 years of recent full-time experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, neuro, or observation units within a Level I trauma center or teaching hospital, and willingness to wait for license submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Level I trauma experience, neuro or transplant unit experience, NIHSS certification.
- Additional Information: Nurses should be competent in sterile procedures, lifts, restraints, and wound care, as well as understanding the importance of sterile fields during skills labs. Orientation includes two shifts: one on the unit and one in the ED holds, with a third as needed. Reports are completed bedside, and a quality skin assessment is performed within the first four hours of each shift. There is no call requirement; standby involves a response time of 30 minutes if applicable.
