Job Summary:
Lacerant Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse position in a high-risk obstetric unit located in Sacramento. This role requires comprehensive experience in antepartum, postpartum, and obstetric emergency procedures, with responsibility for circulating c-sections, managing couplet care, and utilizing advanced fetal monitoring systems. The successful candidate will work a rotating schedule during night shifts, including holiday coverage, in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to maternal and neonatal care.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 PM, with every-other-weekend shifts and holiday rotations; shift duration is 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certifications; minimum 2 years of obstetric experience; ability to float to midwifery and interpret fetal monitoring strips; experience circulating c-sections; willing to work in a high-risk, couplet care, labor, delivery, and postpartum environment.
• Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification.
• Float: Float to other Sacramento facilities, but no in-house floating required.
• Additional Information: Must adhere to AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, handling common diagnoses such as preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, cesarean sections, and hypertension. The unit includes OB surgical techs, OB hospitalists available 24/7, and in-house anesthesia and neonatologists. The position involves a mix of clinical duties, including circulating c-sections, managing labor, and postpartum patient care, with responsibilities such as titrating drips and interpreting maternal EKG strips.
