Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a level care setting located in Sacramento. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population with high-acuity cases such as preterm labor, bleeding, and cesarean sections. The RN will be responsible for circulating C-sections, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, and supporting all aspects of maternal care. The position requires the ability to float to other facilities within the organization and work comprehensive 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 PM, with every other weekend (EOW) and rotation with staff on holidays. Overtime and extra shifts are available.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or relevant area, certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and adherence to AWHONN guidelines for ratios.
• Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification is preferred.
• Float: Float to other Sacramento facilities; mid-shift float to different facilities may occur rarely, but in-house floating is not expected.
• Additional Information: Must circulate C-sections, be comfortable with all aspects of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit operations, including managing oxytocin drips and interpreting fetal monitoring strips. The unit comprises 10 labor and delivery beds, 2 triage beds, and 12 postpartum beds, with an average of 140-165 births monthly. Care is guided by AWHONN ratios for couples and mother-baby dyads. The hospital provides scrubs, and the role may involve assisting with baby catching for which NICU staff or L&D staff may be assigned.
