Description
Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN in Idaho Falls, ID. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients within a 16-bed unit, focusing on advanced respiratory interventions and invasive line management. The position is scheduled for night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for a 12-week assignment, with a possibility of rotating weekends and on-call duties.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; minimum of 1+ year of recent, direct bedside pediatric critical care experience, including mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, nasal CPAP, managing tracheostomies, arterial and central lines, titrating vasoactive, paralytic, and sedative infusions, and experience with weight-based pharmacology.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in precepting novice and new graduate nurses; ability to assist with intubation, central line management, continuous organ-support therapies, and moderate sedation for pediatric procedures.
- Additional Information: The role involves management of advanced respiratory and invasive therapies, assisting with specialized pediatric procedures, and maintaining competency in age-specific assessments for neonates through young adults. Team-oriented, enjoys working with children, and maintains a good sense of humor are ideal personality traits.
