Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nursing, located in an acute care facility, is seeking qualified registered nurses to join the team for a night shift assignment. This role involves providing exceptional patient care to adult and geriatric populations within a specialized step-down environment. The position requires flexibility to work across dual units, including progressive care and general floor care, with responsibilities centered around cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, and the oversight of cardiac drips.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license in the state, 2 years of nursing experience, ACLS and BCLS certifications, experience with cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips (no titration), chest tubes, and telemetry monitoring.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a step-down or telemetry unit, experience with trauma level I or II, and exposure to complex cardiac patient populations.
• Float: Will float within service line.
• Additional Information: The assignment involves managing patients with lung transplant, lung surgeries, lobectomy, mass removal, wedge resection, bronchial sleeve, esophagectomy, and hiatal hernia repair. All nurses will work on a dual unit with patient ratios typically ranging from 2-3 on PCU and 4-5 on the floor. Orientation is approximately 36 hours, and RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days. Travel and licensing details must be adhered to, with no local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius. The start date for this assignment is October 26, 2026, with a scheduled end date of January 18, 2027.
