Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a healthcare setting focusing on delivering high-quality patient care. The RN will oversee nursing care plans, supervise ancillary staff, and coordinate patient assessments and discharge planning. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to clinical standards to support patient recovery and ensure a safe work environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift, valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification prior to first shift (if applicable), at least two years of bedside clinical experience, ICU experience, and experience working in a Progressive Care Unit setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: None listed.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Performs comprehensive patient assessments within 8 hours of admission, develops individualized care plans, and participates in interdisciplinary team conferences. Responsible for accurate documentation and patient education, initiating discharge planning from day one, and effectively communicating any changes in patient status. Provides supervision and direction to ancillary staff, promotes a safe environment, and participates in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment. Assumes charge responsibilities after orientation and actively engages in ongoing professional development. Prioritizes patient needs effectively while managing clinical supplies and equipment.
