Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a designated healthcare facility environment. The role involves providing acute care to cardiac and respiratory patients with a focus on critical patient needs. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in critical care skills and have active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, along with NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification. This position is scheduled for day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with an expectation of at least 36 hours per week, and includes weekend and holiday coverage.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; two years of clinical experience; valid license at time of submittal
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with acute care or critical care; familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; first floated per ONA contract
  • Additional Information:
    • Patient population includes cardiac and respiratory diagnoses
    • Nurse aides are not consistently on unit; RN-to-patient ratio is 1:2
    • In-house hospitalist or intensivist coverage; RT available 24/7, with all necessary equipment present
    • Nurse staff are expected to titrate critical drips such as Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and Precedex
    • On-call may be required with a 30-minute response time
    • Scrub color/dress code: black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki
    • Unit/unit-specific orientation is 2 shifts
    • Contract is for a 13-week assignment, with cancellation policy allowing up to 4 shift cancellations during this period
