Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurses are needed for a night shift position on a 12-hour schedule at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing high-level care to critically ill patients with complex diagnoses, requiring specialized skills and experience. The nurses will work predominantly on the 4th floor, managing a diverse patient population including post-surgical, cardiac, and ICU-level acuity patients.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours shift time, from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• End Date: 12/21/2026
• Required Qualifications: WA or Compact (Interstate) Licenses, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU settings
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN), Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)
• Unit Details:
  • Type of Patients: Sepsis, COPD, Covid, pneumonia, withdrawal, post-stroke, CRRT, IABP, Impella, PA catheters, post-cardiac arrest, recovery from open-heart surgery, post-interventional lab, post-surgical recovery
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2 for ICU level acuity, 1:3-4 for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level acuity
  • Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, Arctic sun for post-cardiac arrest patients
  • Staffing: Charge nurse and resource nurse on each shift; CNA ratio of 1:12, may assist as sitters
  • Interdisciplinary Team: In-house ICU intensivist or hospitalist 24/7, dedicated pharmacist until 11 PM, 24/7 Respiratory Therapist (RT)
  • Monitoring: ICU nurses are responsible for managing and interpreting monitors and strips
• Additional Requirements: Must be flexible and a team player, willing to float to other critical care areas or the Emergency Room, and willing to work many Sundays.
• Orientation: Epic system training provided if experienced within the last year, including eight hours of onboarding, education, tours, and a shift with a preceptor.
• Other Notes: Night shift working hours from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, with potential weekend and holiday rotations; minimal scheduling restrictions, self-scheduling reviewed by management.
