Job Summary:
The labor and delivery postpartum nurse position is located at a healthcare facility specializing in maternal and neonatal care. This assignment involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, including supporting maternal-neonatal teaching and managing high-risk medications. The role requires a dedicated professional with experience in obstetrics and neonatal care.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Valid registered nurse license in the state where care is provided
  • One year of recent (within the last three years) full-time equivalent experience in labor and delivery or postpartum units
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
  • Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
  • Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
  • Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
  • Proficiency with IStat testing and adult cardiac monitoring
  • Knowledge of newborn monitors, including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
  • Ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
  • Knowledge of neonatal medications and ability to perform IV administration and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
  • Support maternal-newborn teaching and post-operative bladder training
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of postpartum experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Additional Information:
  • The assignment runs from 10/20/2026 through 01/23/2027, offering an opportunity for a dedicated nurse to support maternal and neonatal care during this period.
