NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Nurse - Location: [Not specified]
This position involves providing specialized care in a neonatal intensive care setting. The role includes responding to neonatal emergencies, performing bedside procedures, and supporting newborns ranging from 23 weeks gestation to four months of age. The NICU Nurse will be responsible for managing critical respiratory conditions, administering medications, and assisting in high-risk deliveries.

Job Details

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district NICU experience 3 years of NICU experience required 3 years of experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting Location requirements: must reside 50 miles away from the facility Schedule: rotating shifts, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Responsibilities include responding to neonatal emergencies, providing assessment and immediate care, and attending all C-sections and high-risk deliveries
• Conditions treated include, but are not limited to: extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
• Services provided include: noninvasive nasal continuous positive airway pressure, mechanical ventilation, including high frequency oscillation and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
• Nurses assist in bedside procedures such as peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood products administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and parent teaching
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse
