Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a high-acuity obstetric unit. This role involves managing all aspects of maternal and neonatal care, including circulating cesarean sections, following AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, and providing comprehensive support from labor through postpartum. The shift is during the day, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts, and candidates must be willing to work holidays and float to other facilities as needed.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour days, every other weekend, with holiday rotations; shift start time at 6:45 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active license to practice; BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN-Advanced certifications; minimum of 2 years obstetric experience; must be able to float within Sacramento facilities; experience circulating cesarean sections and interpreting fetal monitoring systems.
• Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification.
• Additional Information: Must be comfortable managing a high-risk OB environment, circulate c-sections, and perform all patient care tasks from start to finish. Candidates must have had a minimum of 2 years' experience in labor and delivery and be knowledgeable in titrating drips such as Pitocin. The unit operates at a rate of approximately 140-165 births per month, with a ratio of 1:3-4 couplets and up to 1:2 in labor and delivery. The team includes OB surgical techs, in-house OB hospitalists, neonatologists on site 24/7, and anesthesia available round-the-clock. Charting is completed using Cerner.
