Job Summary
Operating Room (First Assistant) specialist position located in the Spotsylvania area. This role involves providing first assistance during surgical procedures within a busy surgical unit. The position is suited for a team-oriented healthcare professional capable of maintaining high standards of patient care and surgical support.

Job Details

• Shift: Days, 10 hours per shift
• Schedule: 40 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: VA license, First Assistant (FA), Basic Life Support (BLS), must be able to scrub or serve as first assist, willing to take call, and be flexible with scheduling.
• Preferred Qualifications: Flexibility in scheduling, team player personality.
• Unit Information:
  • Location: OR within a medical center at a facility with four operating rooms
  • Staffing: 16 staff members, including 1 RN, 1 surgical tech (ST), and 1 flexible aid (FA) per room
  • Procedures performed: Orthopedics, general surgery, spine/neuro, gynecology, urology
  • Dress code: Scrubs required; attire as specified for weekends and on-call
  • Call requirements: Rotating weekends and daily call with staff members
• Additional Information:
  The role encompasses assisting with a variety of surgical procedures in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and teamwork. No floating areas are designated for this position.
