Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position is located in a mixed acuity unit with a focus on caring for patients with various diagnoses including trauma post-surgical, motor vehicle accidents, elective surgeries, and complex cases such as GSW and blunt trauma. The role involves providing high-level patient care within a unit that promotes a collaborative and supportive environment, emphasizing excellent patient outcomes and staff engagement.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, beginning on 10/26/2026 and ending on 01/23/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification, at least 2 years of recent experience in stepdown, telemetry, or higher levels of care; additional preferred experience in trauma, surgical, or cardiovascular units.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing wound care, wound vacs, drains, blood transfusions, skeletal traction, and various pumps (e.g., PCA, sapphire). Knowledge of electronic medical records and equipment such as IV pumps, monitors, and specialized unit-specific tools.
• Additional Information: Orientation includes 24 hours of facility and unit orientation, with initial 12-hour shift at the end of week one and another 12-hour shift at the start of week two. The team utilizes remote telemetry monitoring and supports various staffing roles including CNAs, receptionists, and specialized teams such as vascular access, sepsis, and rapid response. The unit emphasizes a culture of professionalism, integrity, and mutual respect with a focus on patient safety and staff collaboration.
