Neuro Step Down Nurse Night Shift West Virginia. This specialized role involves caring for higher acuity neuroscience patients, including stroke, seizure, and post-craniotomy cases, within a high-acuity neurology step-down unit. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing comprehensive patient care on the neurological step-down and epilepsy monitoring units.

Job Details

Position: STEP DOWN Neuro Step Down Nurse
Location: West Virginia
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: BLS and NIHSS certifications; Minimum of 2 years of experience in a specialized neuro or step-down setting; valid nursing license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for stroke patients, knowledge of titrating drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, Insulin); NIHSS in hand at submission.
Responsibilities: Provide care for high-acuity neuroscience patients, including stroke, seizures, and post-craniotomy, follow protocols for titrating medication drips under physician orders, and monitor neurological status using electronic fetal heart monitoring systems.
Schedule: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, minimum of 48 hours per week.
Additional Information: EPIC experience required; all Step Down qualified RNs considered; RT equipment available 24/7; tele monitoring available; unit requires flexibility with floating to other units at times; orientation includes 2 shifts; must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have approved exemption.
