Job Summary
Telemetry Nursing Nights The healthcare organization is seeking a qualified Telemetry Nurse for a night shift position. This role involves performing independent nursing functions, assessing patient needs, developing and executing care plans, and providing health education and counseling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering supportive and restorative therapy and treatment to patients within the telemetry unit.
Job Details
- Position Description: Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
- Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
- Performs health teaching and health counseling.
- Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others.
- Executes delegated medical functions.
- Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
- Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
- Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Uses resources as needed.
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of the organization, and abides by service behavior standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required skills & experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements list must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Preferred skills & experience: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
- Required skills: Independent nursing functions, delegated medical functions, nursing care, health data assessment, health teaching.
- Additional skills: Health counseling, therapy and treatment, patient referral, therapy and treatment plans, documentation, service behavior standards, previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Education:
- Required: ASN Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree of Nursing.
- Certifications & licensure:
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- BLS American Heart Association.
- (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service).
- Shift Notes: FT nights for Med Surg Tele, with a 12-hour shift schedule and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
