• Position Description:

  • Unit Notes: Prescreen and manager review. Clinician must pass a dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% score within two attempts; failure results in a no-use (DNU) status for specified locations for six months.
  • Circumstances include a 50-mile radius rule, with restrictions on employment with associated facilities within the past year.
  • The unit is telemetry-focused, with a patient ratio of 1:5, and includes complex patient cases such as CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, gastrointestinal conditions, diabetics, post-cardiac cath, and total joint replacements.
  • RN responsibilities include reading and interpreting telemetry strips, with some experience with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) and transient ischemic attacks (TIA).
  • Cerner electronic charting system experience is recommended due to one day of orientation.
  • RN titration of drips is not required; but titratable drugs such as Diltiazem (Cardizem) are administered at set rates.
  • Additional staff includes blood flow monitoring techs.

• Shift Details:

  • Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Schedules are made for four weeks, with self-scheduling that is finalized after managerial review.
  • The unit operates with a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM schedule.
  • Weekend requirements include two weekends per four-week schedule, with holiday shifts on Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving.
  • Staffing includes floating to East Campus and possibly to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) if qualified.
  • Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs.
  • Orientation includes one shift of unit-specific training.
  • No mention of telehealth or remote work.
