Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Urology/Nephrology is needed for a healthcare facility. The position involves providing acute care for adult patients with urological and nephrological conditions, including kidney transplant patients, and managing a variety of diagnoses such as kidney stones, enlarged prostates, and complex bladder surgeries. The role requires a solid foundation in medical-surgical nursing within a busy hospital environment.

Job Details

• Position / Specialty: Med Surg RN - Urology/Nephrology
• Shift: Day shift 0645-1915
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois RN license, BLS certification, minimum 2 years of medical-surgical experience involving telemetry and emergency response skills, cerner charting experience, and recent experience with genitourinary/renal case management including pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and kidney transplant care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma level I hospital, community hospital experience, and knowledge of advanced respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula.
• Additional Information: This role involves float within scope to other Medical Surgical units, providing care for adult patients with diverse diagnoses, and operating equipment such as central lines, chest tubes, and urinary catheters. The candidate must understand infection control precautions and wound care.
