Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Nurse in a healthcare facility setting is responsible for providing high-quality patient care within a designated unit. This role involves managing patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and other neuroscience diagnoses, on a dedicated neuro unit. The position requires flexibility to float within the unit and adherence to setting-specific protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Requirements for Submission: Last four digits of clinician's Social Security Number, active Illinois license or confirmation of application initiation, understanding of the organizations drug-free policy requiring negative drug screens, and successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
- Required Qualifications: Current Illinois nursing license or verified application process, BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certification, minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, experience on a neuro unit with level 1 trauma experience, previous travel experience (no first-time travelers), heparin titrated drip experience, and ability to read telemetry strips.
- Additional Responsibilities: Managing patient care on a specialized neuro unit, including titration of drips, reading telemetry, and surgical patient management. The role involves engaging with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, nurse aides/patient care technicians, and tele/monitor techs.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
