Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Nights Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit specializing in conditions such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, end-of-life care, and other medical diagnoses requiring telemetry monitoring. The position requires delivering excellent clinical care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Active Illinois nursing license or initiation of application process, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, and at least 1 year of clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Providing patient care with nurse:patient ratios of 1:4-5 during the nights, with on-shift charge nurses available. Monitoring telemetry, troubleshooting vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment, while following unit protocols. Managing patient needs including heart failure, diabetic, and end-of-life diagnoses. Maintaining proper documentation in an Epic electronic charting system, with orientation typically consisting of two shifts.
• Additional Requirements: Floating to a MedSurg unit and occasionally ICU to manage overflow patients. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, and holiday coverage is necessary on designated days.
