Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse Family Birthing Center, Responsible for providing specialized care to mothers and newborns in a high-volume Family Birthing Center, performing patient assessments, assisting with labor and delivery, and ensuring safety during high-risk and standard labor cases. This role involves working with a team in a 13-bed unit, including OR suites and high-risk patient management, with coverage for nights and holidays.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Certifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN), BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); Education: No specific degree required; Location: Must have valid license to submit; Experience: 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience circulating C-sections, in-house OB physicians and anesthesia, and previous float experience to Mother-Baby or Level 1 nursery.
• Responsibilities: Manage standard and high-risk labor patients, triage OB patients as appropriate, collaborate with OB physicians and anesthesia staff, and respond to emergency situations including C-sections. Maintain documentation in Cerner electronic medical record system.
• Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP required at submission.
• Schedule: Night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM; every third weekend and rotating holidays. Extra shifts available; floating to Mother-Baby or Level 1 nursery if candidate has relevant experience.
• Additional Information: Floor-specific orientation (2-3 days depending on skill set), unit handles 90-100 births per month, manages standard and high-risk pregnancies, and triages OB patients at 20 weeks or greater. No on-call requirement for travelers; shifts can be canceled as per hospital policy.
