Job Summary
Long Term Care Nursing Supervisor The healthcare provider in Maine is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to assist in managing the nursing department within a long-term care facility. This role involves supporting the Director of Nursing Services in coordinating daily operations, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment and provide leadership in resident care.

Job Details

• Qualifications: Current registered nurse license in Maine; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; experience in management/leadership and acute or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Schedule: Days shift, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates standards of care, policies, and procedures for all patient/resident populations.
  • Ensures patient/resident rights are upheld and confidentiality maintained.
  • Acts as a patient/resident advocate and provides information to appropriate parties.
  • Assists in staff development, competency assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Monitors quality improvement activities, participates in safety and infection control committees, and maintains required certifications such as CPR and LV.
  • Provides educational support to staff and facilitates student affiliations.
  • Fulfills responsibilities to the nursing department, including evaluating clinical competency, supporting team in emergencies, and improving care delivery systems.
  • Assumes duties of the Director of Nursing Services in their absence.
  • Must reside 50+ miles from the facility, with up to three shifts subject to cancellation during the assignment.
• Additional Information: Candidates should have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with personnel, patients, and families.
